AirPods Pro 2

AirPods Pro (1st generation)

Which AirPods Pro do you have? How to identify your generation
Not sure which generation you have? These features will help you identify it in seconds:
- Model number:open Settings on your iPhone, tap your AirPods, and scroll to the model number. Apple links each number to one generation.
- Charging port:a Lightning port means a Pro 1 or an early Pro 2. USB-C means a Pro 2 from 2023 or later, or a Pro 3.
- Speaker holes:small openings at the bottom of the case are only found on the Pro 2 and the Pro 3.
- Lanyard loop:a narrow opening on the side for a wrist strap belongs to the Pro 2 and the Pro 3.
- LED:a light that is always visible is on the Pro 1 and Pro 2. On the Pro 3, the LED is invisible until it lights up.
The difference between regular AirPods and AirPods Pro
Regular AirPods, like the AirPods 4 and the new AirPods 5, have an open fit. They sit loosely in your ear without silicone tips. AirPods Pro sit insideyour ear canal, with tips in five sizes that seal your ear. This makes the Pro's noise cancellation more powerful and the bass sound fuller.

Are all AirPods Pro cases the same size?
No, not all AirPods Pro cases are the same size. The cases for the AirPods Pro 1 and Pro 2 have virtually the same exterior dimensions of 45.2 x 60.6 x 21.7 mm. The case for the AirPods Pro 3 is larger, at 47.2 x 62.2 x 21.8 mm, which means a case from a previous generation will not fit correctly.
Does a regular AirPods case fit AirPods Pro?
No, a case for regular AirPods does not fit an AirPods Pro case. The case for regular AirPods, like the AirPods 4 and AirPods 5, is more compact and has a different shape. Always choose a case made specifically for your AirPods Pro generation.
Can I charge my AirPods Pro wirelessly with a case on?
